"We tell you about Rania who has completed her bachelor's degree in law" What a joy to meet dear friends again at E.G.S.S. orphanage. The pandemic has meant that we have not been able to meet. Many were similar, but apart from the fact that I have grown older, the children and young people had grown up. Many of them especially the young girls who have now become young ladies. "Changes that becomes a light" A glimmer of light and hope is given to us in these pandemic times is the news that Rania has now become engaged to the love of her life. Rania is the girl who has been with us up on Moqattam from the beginning. She and her sister Nora were some of the first children so she is very close to many of us. They have been waiting with engagement, which usually goes fast in Egypt otherwise, to get to know each other and to build the relationship with each other through God. She also said that her goal is to work in a higher position in the police force when she studies a political science specialization at a university. Now that she is nearing the end of her studies, she finally gets to show her love officially in this engagement. Many of us are happy with her and get to see another successful story end at EGSS caringhome. With warmest regards, DGSS board through Lena Backstig

"Every day that came and went, I did not think it was life." In January 1993, 26 years ago, a group of enthusiasts, led by Folke Axelsson, formed DGSS. The years have passed and a lot has happened over time. Magdy Bassaly, who has been with us all these years, still has a significant role in the work. Over the years, we have always had close contact with the activities at the orphanage. It is fantastic to follow the children's development and state that those who were interested received education, others got married and had children. I think of the saying we have in Sweden, "Every day that came and went, I did not think it was life." With warmest regards, DGSS board through Lena Backstig
