Mina, our first child
Mina was born into a life that we in Sweden have secure hard to put ourselves in. His mom tried to commit suicide when he was 3 months old. She was and still is completely paralyzed and spends all of her time in the hospital. Minas father lost his hand in an accident and was not capable of taking responsibility for his son. Mina was left in the street most days.

Mariam
Mariam is 12 years old and her father is dead. Her mother lives in El Minja in a very poor area and she is not capable of taking care of her daughter. Mariam suffers from severe nightmares which may arise from her experiences as a child. We have very limited knowledge of what happened to Mariam before she was taken in by the orphanage. Creating security We do our utmost to make Mariam feel secure with us, but this has to and will take the time it takes. Mariam is a wonderful nice girl who we wish all the best.

Harkim
Harkim is 8 years old. As a child, Harkim had meningitis and was very sick. This illness still affects Harkim and he needs a lot of support. He comes from a very poor family where the father collects waste and sells any that can be reused. There is great shame at not being able to take care of their children. Poverty pushes parents to make merciless decisions. Schooling with added support Harkim receives all the help he needs to succeed in school and we hope that this support opens the way to a good life.

Nabil
Nabil. It is difficult to know in detail what happened to Nabil before he came to the orphanage. In the beginning, Nabil cried uncontrollably every night after midnight. Nobody understood why until it was revealed that his father came home drunk every night after midnight. He physically beat Nabil's mother every night. Nabil's mother was not in a position to take care of him after the divorce. Safe and sound again To our great delight, Nabil now sleeps well all night long. He has developed into a calm and secure boy who is happy and feels a joy for life again.

Hanan
Seventeen year old Hanan has been at the orphanage for many years. Her father is dead. Her mother has not been able to take care of her. It is with a great feeling of shame that she was not able to take care of her own child. It means that her mother is so poor that there was no other way out. Hanan had a life crisis last year after she had finished school. She was worried about her own future. Things got so bad that she did not want to live. Becoming a chef Today, everything has fallen into place for Hanan. She attends a private school training to be a chef. All thanks to kind people who support her both practically and financially.
